ASTM A500 TUBING
ASTM A500 Tubing is a standard specification for cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing in round, square and rectangular shapes. ASTM A500 is the most common specification in North America for Hollow Structural Sections (HSS).

ASTM A500 tubing comes in four grades based on chemical composition, tensile strength, and heat treatment. The yield strength requirements are higher for square and rectangular than for round tubing. The minimum copper content is optional. Grade D must be heat treated.
This tubing is produced in both welded and seamless sizes with a maximum periphery of 64 in. (1626 mm) and a maximum wall of 0.625 in. (15.88 mm). Grade D requires heat treatment.
Materials and Manufacture
The steel shall be made by one or more of the following processes: open-hearth, basic-oxygen, or electric-furnace. The tubing shall be made by a seamless or welding process.

Wall Thickness：Plus or minus 10%
Hydrostatic inspection test pressures for the plain end and threaded and coupled pipe are specified. Hydrostatic pressure shall be maintained for not less than 5 seconds for all sizes of seamless and electric-resistance-weld pipe.
